OAA Media makes hunting brand photography and video in the field, from Myrtleford in the Victorian High Country, for hunting retailers and gear brands across Australia. Hunting brands get pulled apart by their own audience faster than any other. A rifle held wrong, a camp that was never slept in, a pack with no dirt on it.

How it runs

Season and permission first
Deer seasons, duck opening, public land rules and private access decide the dates. We plan the shoot around them rather than pretending they are not there.

Small crew, long days
Two of us, on foot, out before light. A small crew moves through the bush without turning a hunt into a film set.

The film, then everything else
The hero film comes first. Reels, stills and product cuts come off the same days so the campaign lands together.
Straight answers
Do you know the country you are filming in?
Yes. We live in it. Myrtleford sits between the Alpine National Park and the Ovens Valley, and the ridges, river flats and bush blocks around us are where our hunting footage comes from. We are not learning the terrain on your shoot day.
Can you film on public land in Victoria?
Yes, within the rules that apply to everyone else on public land. We plan around the seasons, the closures and the access, and we will tell you early if a location or a date will not work.
Will you show the harvest?
That is your call, and it depends on where the content is going. We shoot the whole day and cut a version for each audience, so the film for the expo screen and the film for the feed do not have to be the same edit.
Can you cover our expo or store event as well?
Yes. Event coverage is its own line of work for us, with same day edits when the event needs the film on screen before people go home.
